Applestore delivery (Belgium)

I first ordered myself a 24"iMac 2.8GHz (without options) and an official belgian Apple reseller (switchshops.be) at the end of august. After about 5 weeks I still didn't receive anything. Yesterday I found out that they added a little bit of text at the 2.8GHz order page, stating "Avalaible by the end of october 2007". I really didn't want to wait another month for my iMac to arrive, as I really (really really) need it for school asap. So I canceled my order there and made a new one here (well, on www.apple.be). Now, my question is: a lot of people are saying it won't make any difference, that Apple has problems shipping the iMac 2.8GHz as well, and that it's not just the reseller's fault. Is this true? Or do the actual dates stated by Apple still count (4 to 7 days after payment)?
