iPhone bluetooth with TomTom

The iPhone will not support data syncing over BT. Only headsets.

The problem is in the phone.

I have a Tom Tom GO 910, and my iPhone paired with it right off the bat.Also, I just synced my Iphone contacts to my Tom Tom phone directory.

I'm interested that you managed to do that, surely if BT data is not enabled on iPhone this would not work. Have you tried any of the TomTom plus services. I have a Tom Tom GO 720 and use the traffic updates so I'm really looking forward to apple allowing at least limited data over bluetooth

FWIW, I have paired the iPhone with my TomTom Go 910 without problems, but as you suggest, the TomTom Plus services such as traffic updates don't work. 😟

Does the Tom Tom also play your itunes off the iphone??? Perhaps this is too much to ask? Also, are the phone functions really hands free w/the Tom Tom???

Sorry for not getting back to you before this. I was not able to transfer songs from itunes to my Tom Tom device.
As for using my phone .....yes, the phone can be used hands free....the exception is, when you initiate a call you have to either use your remote control..or...manually select the number you wish to dial. Once dialed, it is hands free. Also, all incoming calls are hands free.

I have also gotten my Garmin Nuvi 680 GPS to pair up with my iPhone. My iPhones contacts show up on my GPS as well as recent and missed calls. I can answer and make calls all on my GPS.

I have heard others say their TomTom GPS wouldn't pair up either. It may just need an update from TomTom to get it to work. My GPS worked perfectly from day one.

After many attempts, I was able to transfer music to my Tom Tom. You are not able to do it from itunes ( probably blocked by Microsoft). I transferred tunes from Windows Media Player to "My Music" In Media Player, you right click on the album (or song)then click on convert , then select MP3 files and convert the album/songs. Then I was able to transfer the songs to my Tom Tom, by opening Tom Tom Home, clicking on add maps, etc; then clicking on "Music", then dragging the tunes from "My Music" to the Tom Tom Music folder.

I use my Garmin C550 and Nuvi 660 and I can listen to music on it, when i go voicemail, and select bluetooth for audio. It works great plus i can use the FM broadcaster to put it on the fm.
