Itunes crashes at startup

Itunes crashes at startup and does not recover. I have unintalled itunes and quicktime at least 15 times, cleaned registry and all the files I knew to. I have deleted Itunes library numerous times. I have deleted all I could find that had to do with quicktime and itunes. Still crashes after startup. I have windows vista.
event viewer log shows this:

Firstly, thanks for responding. I appreciate it.

I started quicktime and got this error:
---------------------------
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
---------------------------
Buffer overrun detected!

Program: C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QuickTimePlayer.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must
now be terminated.

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Thanks Kyle

Ok, you didn't do the second thing I asked you to do which was to go to the Control Panel and try to start Quicktime Preferences. The error message you get there can be very useful.

Have you installed any of the following codec packs on your PC?
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec

They can be associated with the Buffer overrun problem in Quicktime.

OK, you need to uninstall the klite codec pack.

Then download the stand alone Quicktime:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html

Now Remove Quicktime using the method here (just Quicktime):
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698

When you come to your C:\Windows\system32\ folder you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.

Restart you computer
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check if it starts.

If it does you are in a position to find out if iTunes is OK.
