Yahoo Push Email any update?

I have been testing my iphone's Yahoo Push email today several times, mostly getting emails pushed in less than 10min other times can take up to an hour. Does anyone out there know what is the real problem is here? Yahoo directs support to Apple, I am waiting on Apple's response. What are others experiencing?

Hello everyone, I'm posting this topic again since Yahoo "push" email has been working much better for me since yesterday, anyone else?

I gave up on Yahoo Push since several of my outgoing emails vanished. I switched to using POP access (I have a Yahoo Plus account).

Can you give it a week and respond again? If it really seems to be working again I'll switch back.

I have found that Yahoo Mail has been "pushing" to my iphone anywhere from instantly to about 5 minutes (not bad IMO), the problem I'm encountering is the sending of Yahoo Mail from iphone, sometimes it just doesn't work, then without making any changes it will work, anyone out there with any news on this?

I am having the same problem. I have just realized all the mail i have sent from my iphone since Thursday never arrived. For the last 4 days I cannot send mail using Yahoo Mail imap account. However I can reply to mails and those seem to go through. This is of course very annoying.

I think it's a real bummer that this doesn't work properly - it can't be counted on. If it was "Google Push" it would be working! Yahoo needs to get their act together if they intend to maintain their #2 position.

Not just Yahoo.... Apple & Yahoo need to get their acts together if you ask me. Push has -never- worked consistently for me, and I too have experienced lost outbound mail sent from the Yahoo! account. Not the BlackBerry Pearl replacement I'd hoped for from a Push email and email reliability standpoint.

Fortunately checking my .Mac mail every 5 minutes works reliably and is almost as good as push.

Still, the silence from both Apple and Yahoo on this issues is deafening!

Since the minimum time you can set the iPhone to check is 15 minutes I assume you mean you are manually checking every 5 minutes??

Michael,

Yes. 15 minutes is what I meant.

Which I guess means an average wait time of 7.5 minutes before I receive an email unless I check manually.

Yes, after using Yahoo "push" mail the last couple of days, I have found it is broken as well, I did see in another post that the Yahoo "push" email problem will be addressed by Apple and will be fixed with the next software update. The post is titled "is Yahoo mail consistently pushing for anyone?". Let's keep our fingers crossed and look forward to a resolution soon.

Upon the advice of an AppleCare Product Specialist I've performed a restore on my iphone (went very smoothly) my findings after the restore are-"push" mail only pushed well for about 2 hours then did not push at all (I had to go into the mailbox and pull), as far as my problem with sending Yahoo mail from iphone (mail not being sent, although iphone says it was with status bar and swoosh sound) after sending out 10 emails from iphone, they all were sent! Seems the restore at least fixed my sending Yahoo mail problem, I will call the Product Specialist back later with my findings, hope this helps others..

Marking this as answered due to the good performance of Yahoo! "push" email over the past Month, I have been receiving all mail in about 15 seconds from it's being sent! It took awhile but at least now it's working.
