Well the first thing I thought of was device driver problems, and there is a lot of that being reported here, although I've never seen it reported on a MAC system. I would still say though that it has something to do with your system setup, exactly what unknown, you'd have to troubleshoot that yourself, sorry, but it could be lots of things and you would know your system better than anyone else. I can tell you one thing though, I use my iPhone on my MAC, Vista 32b, and XP PRO with no problems at all. So it's got to be something inherent in your system. USB ports can be flakey on MAC's as well as windows systems, so the first thing I would do is unplug all existing USB devices, accept keyboard/mouse, and try to proceed from there.

I would also try to ignore the idiots that only want to post things like OOOooopppsss.

Well I have had my Power Book G4 17 inch laptop for almost 4 years now! I have never had any problems with anything! It started acting a lil weird with iTunes updates within the last month. But i have been reading up discussions on the power book g4's and there are alot of them that people update there computers and when they restart them they never start up again for some odd reason!! So Sad to say but i think my APPLE is dead!! 😟

Is there anyway to get any info out of it before i try to do a system restore? cuz i never back up my files!!

I'm sorry to say I don't have a whole lot of experience with MAC's. I've only had my iMac for about 1 1/2 years. I learned a LONG time ago though, because of being a windows user for about 25 years, that it is vital to back everything up, and unfortunately I learned it the HARD way.

Do MAC laptops have those little batteries in them like windows laptops do, you know the ones that keep your setup features in tact? If so, then that is the first thing that I would check/or at least have checked. Hopefully someone else in the forums that have more knowledge about MAC's will chime in here and help ya out.

Did you try to unplug all USB devices that you may have had attached and see if it would boot?

Oh yeah unpluging everything was the first thing i did!! And yeah i was a pc guy to before I switched to MAC and i even thought to myself couple days before that i should back up my stuff. I was even going to go buy me an extra hard drive! Too late huh!! but yeah well i finally Called apple and got them to waive the $49 call in support since i never bought the warranty and good thing cuz they only last 3 years so it wouldnt even covered it!! But I played the loyal apple customer role and they are helping me out.. now if i can only find the tiger os x disc haha lol k well thanks for trying to help!!!
