Does the iPhone have a plain "ring ring" ringing telephone ringtone?

I am contemplating buying an iPhone when they arrive in the UK. Can anyone who already has one tell me whether it has a plain old ringing telephone type ring tone? Or is there one available as a downloadable ringtone from iTunes? Also, is there a short "beep" type message tone?

macbook white 2ghz, Mac OS X (10.4.9), 1.25G ram and 60gig hard drive, Iomega external drive, Formac 80gig black iPod.

Not sure if the factory ringtones will be 100% identical for the iPhone released in the UK but it includes what is called "Old Phone" which sounds like the ring associated with old rotary phones in the U.S. which is what I use. It is plenty loud and professional sounding when in a business environment.

There are additional options now for the New Text Message alert but the alerts for New Voicemail, New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, Lock Sounds and Keyboard Clicks are factory set and can't be changed at the present time.

For what type of message with this short beep - voicemail?

I hate MP3 ringtones too. I think it's kind of silly. I have been using the "Old Phone" ring ever since I bought a Sony Ericsson phone back in 2002, and I believe it is really cool (especially for a 21 century device such as iPhone!) and "professional-sounding".

I only wish Apple have made a super-cool brand ringtone, a-la Sony Ericsson's brand ringtone and SMS alert sound.

I've never for a second thought I was crazy for hating the current crop of these stupid rock and rap songs as ringtones. Using such tones shows no class and no maturity whatsoever.

So much much of a geek am I for making a couple of Tower of Power ringtones? Harmless, right?..:o))

A few years ago, when uploading one's own ringtones was made possible, I actually went around and recorded several phones' ringers because of the lack of real ringtones available. Now THAT'S being a geek!

I think even the 'old phone' is a bit childish. Why not just include some normal cell phone ring tones. I agree the old phone is much better than a song ring tone though. It just annoys me that they have all of those stupid silly sounds (come on...a dog barking???) when all most normal people want is just basic tones. The ability to buy songs as ringtones is not something I'm against, as I'm sure many many people will use this feature. But I think people should have the option to use normal ringers.
BTW does anyone know a song that has a normal sounding cell phone ringing in it? Perhaps a skit or something off of an album. I would consider purchasing it from iTunes just to have something that sounds normal.
