How can I record from the Radio onto the Hard Disc - as opposed to a cd/dvd

Hi. I guess this has been asked before. Is there any way I can record from the Radio onto the Hard Drive as opposed to a removable disc?

By 'Radio' do you mean an external radio set? If so: you can record from anything like a hifi, or a cassette recorder: you will need the appropriate leads. If your eMac has an audio line input socket you can plug into that, otherwise you will need an audio-to-USB interface. To make the recording you will need a suitable program: Audacity is free.

If by 'Radio' you mean Internet Radio then you need Audio Hijack Pro to pick up the output of the program you are using to listen to Internet Radio.

Note, before recording from radio, make sure you have permission to record such a program. There are copyright restrictions on radio programs, and radio stations have to go through a licensing process to play programs on the air. Otherwise what you suggest doing may not be legal in your state or country.

Radio Shark, a product by Griffin offers the ability to record radio programs directly to an iTunes and iPod compatible format.
