My charger turns pale pink

I'm on my third warranty battery for my macbook pro...and I'm on my second charger (the wires on the first one literally burned through) also covered by warranty. But my first charger's exterior plastic case started turning pale pink long before it "died", and the current one is doing the same thing. Heard of this?

Are you still under warranty? If so, I would report it to Apple. Is it getting hot? If so, the pinkish tinge could be a sign of heat and impending failure. Apparently a number of these power adapters have been going bad as reported elsewhere on this forum, and the replacements will not be available for several weeks.

There is also a possibility that there is some other problem affecting both the battery and the power adaptor. Or it might be just a bad run of both--this can happen in manufacturing.

Good luck!
