Wireless USB-Stick: Netgear WG111 works on PB G4 but not on iMac G4-800

Hello!

Please help me to solve this weird problem: I found some drivers that allow me to use the WiFi-USB-Stick WG111 from Netgear on OS X. It works perfectly with my Powerbook G4-1.67, but it won't be recognised in the Network Status Pane of my iMac G4-800. On the pane "active ports" it is recognised, but not on the "Network status" pane. Obviously, on the PB-G4 it is recognised on both panes.
The application that comes with the drivers recognises the USB-stick, it detects my access point, but can't connect to it.

That's weird. What could it be?

I thought it could be the USB 1.0 port of the iMac G4, but apparently other MacUsers were able to connect with it on older G3-macs with USB 1.0 ports.

Help would be appreciated!

Martin

This is where the version 1.0 drivers are. They say G4 only, but I have it working fine on my G3 400Mhz iMac. It was really slow with 128bit wep encryption, so I backed off to the 64bit on my router and it is plenty fast. Go to remember that the encryption is handled completely by the CPU on thes little guys.

Hi!

Finally, I managed it. Thanks to vistamademegomac's hint to OS X drivers, I could successfully connect my WG111v2 to my Netgear WR614v6 router. At first it wouldn't connect, but after having set the wireless mode from only G-standard to B and G together it magically connected.

Hope this will offer some help to you guys out there!

Thanks for the reading and especially for the postings!
