Audio lost on all imported clips

I've been importing video for the past week. The video has played back with no issues. Upon my latest reopen, I've been unable to get any sound out of my videos. The video indicator under the preview screen (upper left) does not reflect sounds. I hear all other audio on my PC with no issue.

What happened to my audio on my tracks?!

macmini, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

i'm having the same problem. When i move the pointer to the clip i can hear the sound but i hear nothing when i double click it to play it.

Is there a grey screen as well as no sound? If so, I have the same problem and ended up going to another program...there was no fixing it : (

Grey screen and no sound would likely be a corrupted Project or Event thumbnail file(s). (I.e. frame indices no long point to valid source audio/video frames.) Some users have reported success at forcing a "re-generation" of such files by deleting or removing the bad thumbnail files. Have not tried it myself.

I called Applecare about this a few weeks ago. We were able to confirm that there is a limit to how many hours/size of videos that can be stored in an event. If the events are kept smaller than you won't see the issue.

THIS IS A BUG and I have no idea confidence that the tech is reporting it through the support chain properly.
