ProRes 422 - Rendering clips in Windows

Hello

We just installed FCPS2. Seems nice.

We plan on using ProRes 422 for an HD project that we are working on, This project is almost exclusively 3D renders, with a few 2D (afterEffects) renders in between.

Can I render to ProRes 422 (HQ) from AfterEffects in Windows? We're doing almost all of our compositing in Windows, and I'd hate to have to "find a way" to make it work by moving them to the Mac. I'd love to have a guy on our Mac editing and working on the audio while I have another guy compositing our image sequences/effects in AE on Windows.

The issue is exporting my movies from a Windows machine so that we can put them into our ProRes 422 (HQ) timeline on our Mac. If there's a better way to do this, I'll bring it to my boss & see what he says.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

ProRes is NOT a cross platform codec. If you are comitted to a cross platform workflow you may need to investigate alternate compressed/uncompressed HD codec options. As a start, take a look at the Sheer codec from BitJazz http://www.bitjazz.com/ and the venerable Cineform codec http://www.cineform.com/ .
