I have a MBP Core Duo with 1 Gig of ram. I am trying to teach myself Motion and have the Apple Training Manual for Motion 3. I am on lesson 2 and already noticing it is gettig quite slow (FPS) even on ram preveiw or "Baking" some of the layer groups. I am wondering if upgrading to 2 Gig will solve this as my video card is only 128. Can anyone Help?
Thanks
Jeff

The VRAM is not affected by the system ram, so while you
may get a performance boost if you're project is taxing your ram capacity, it will do nothing to help your video card... which is the main source of performance in Motion.
This isn't really what I wanted to hear as I just got my ram upgraded today. Since I'm stuck with this video card, is there another way pehaps adjusting the catche or smething else in the Motion prefferences.
Change the resolution when working on a project from full to quarter.
Also you can view particles as wireframe to increase performance by selecting the particle emitter or cell tab in the inspector and selecting show as wireframe, line, point etc..
