Upgrading RAM?

I just got a MacBook Pro I got it at the Apple Store so only came with 2GB of RAM installed. What kind of RAM does it take as I wanna take the 4GB of RAM out of my IBM Thinkpad T60 and put it into the MacBook and put the 2GB into the IBM Thinkpad.

IBM doesn't need 4GB as Windows Vista doesn't even acknowledge the 4gb therefore its a waste.

Is this possible? do they take the same kind of RAM?

I'm not recommending you are doing this because it might fry your RAM.... However, if you are insisted in doing so, check whether your PC RAM is PC2-5300 and if it compatiable with Mac.... Good luck.

ya called IBM found out the kind of RAM and then called Apple and they use the same exact kind so installed it and my MacBook Pro is now running 4GB of RAM so all is good to go 🙂
