The iTouch screen seems more durable than the old iPod screens Not to say that it won't scratch if you are careless and grit, sand, or hard particulate get inside the sock. However, using it with the sock is not a problem if care is taken. What you need to watch is that you never wipe the screen or put it in the sock if there is anything abrasive on the screen. It only takes a small grain of hard particulate to cause havoc if you're careless. I ususally use a high quality micro fiber cloth on any of my screens as well as lightly blowing or flicking anything that looks troublsome off before it has a chance to do damage. Also, another thing is to avoid "over cleaning" the screen. Keeping it clean and being anal about it are two different things. Constantly wiping it over and over means there is always that chance of something being there that you don't see and BAM you have a scratch or swirl marks. Lastly, people have a tendency to wipe to hard. You are cleaning a delicate glass screen, not trying to polish silver. Light pressure is sufficient to get off most fingerprints or dust. You don't have to be anal about it, but as long as you make an effort to avoid the bad stuff you shouldn't have any problemms.
