How to set up Macbook Pro to require a password upon bootup?

I have a Macbook Pro. How can I set it up that it would require a password to start it up?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

System Preferences --> Accounts --> Login Options --> uncheck: Automatically login as...
