black screen macbook after update!!! Help!!

Ok so apparently I had been having kernel panics after installing an apple update...this went on for several days. This morning I turn on my macbook and here the hard drive rev up like normal and the macbook turns on..problem is my display remains pitch black. I know I have no made any setting changes or anything of the sort. I also have to say that now that my macbook is past the year mark apple is being very nasty about assisting me after their update started wreaking havoc on my macbook. Can anyone help? or someone else having this same issue?

macbook 2ghz, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

That would work if I could actually see my screen dude..that's the problem..screen is black and I can't see anything so this wont work.

It is not an isolated issue. If you search the global forums for "mac" you will see that there are literally thousands of ppl with these same issues...yet Apple will not own up to their mistake and allow us to come in store so they can repair our damaged goods. Way to push apple care on us mr. jobs!!

I have had this once, but it was after a lightning strike on my previous MacBook. All I did was reset the pram, and the screen came up again, although the strike had caused it to flicker. Insurance company sorted that one out. I would still try the pram reset though,

Hold down apple alt+pr as you turn on. When you hear the third chime, let go and see if it re-boots successfully.

Well apple can official kiss my @ss..extortionist company they have become. So their firmware update apparently damaged the logic board..hence my computer was working perfectly up until the point that I installed their issued update. I try everything possible to restore my computer then make the trek down to their fifth avenue store in new york..speak to an apple genius by the name of mike who tells me it'll cost me $280 flat fee for apple to fix whatever is wrong wtih the macbook...after I hesitantly agreed to this (hence again my computer worked fine up until that point) they ship it for repairs..I call two days later..my product has been placed on hold (yet nobody has reached out to me to inform me of this) apparently their team does a diagnostic check and there was liquid in my computer (hence my computer worked perfectly before the update) and a bunch of dust (again my computer worked properly prior to this update and I work as a music producer so the computer has been in a smoke and liquid free environment during its entire existance..since I have mixing boards and other sensitive equipment in its vicinity)..some dumb@*** on the other end of the phone tells me that I have to pay $774 for the total repairs..this is insane..this computer is 15months old and its the second time its been in for repairs that had nothing to do with me damaging it (the overheating issue and now this)...I say mac has lost a huge client..I built my entire recording studio around apple products..that's thousands upon thousands of dollars in hardware and software..this is unacceptable from a company attempting to get a larger marketshare..I am embarrassed to have talk apple up so much to friends and family. How does one go from a flat rate of $280 to $774.

To all those of you who are having this issue and I know i'm not allow because i've found so many topics regarding this last firmware updates destruction of macbooks..good luck..because apple is about to ream us all with the ******** they are pushing on us.

I would like apologize to both apple and its staff and readers of these discussion boards. I was in a bad state when my previous post was entered on here..after speaking to a fantastic customer relations employee who was very understanding of the facts..and has honored their quoted price for my repair despite what may have happened to the macbook while in their possesion. I understand that others I have talked with before @apple were not able to understand or acknowledge the flaw with this product. So to all those with similar issues please reach out to customer relations and calmly express your situation and possibly apple would be happy to assist you and comply with the repairs of your product.
