THen you could also picket and protest on the value of your canadian currency versus the market shre of the US dollar.... yes i know its one to one right now but still contact your government for concessions or drastic changes to your currency. Just cause apple is an american company doesnt mean their stores present in canada still have to pay costs relative to the canadian government etc.

Wow, that seems really odd. I am curious, are other Apple products more expensive in Canada in general? You are right about the level(ing) exchange rate, but they couldn't have priced it so long ago as to make this price make sense. I wonder if Apple pays from tariff to ship products into Canada.

The Apple.com price was $299.00 U.S. Argghh.

Not all bad news, my union has a technology incentive program and it paid $300.00 of the $375.00 tax in price.

So I guess I can't complain. $75.00 Cdn to me -- and it is such an amazing device.

The Canadian dollar is not worth as much as the U.S. dollar (at least that's what I've heard).

Here in the UK, the 16Gb touch costs GBD269 which is USD546 and CAD540.

Typing error, make that GBP269, we haven't quite got the GB Dollar here yet!

I think a bigger question is why dont we have video on the canadian iTunes store yet ? we get same tv, dvds release on same day at best buy on both sides of border, ditto tv on dvd.
