Need driver for HP 1320 printer

Is our only hope that HP will release a new driver to connect the Mac OS 10.4.10 to an HP LaserJet 1320 printer? I see others have had problems with the same printer and earlier versions of OS X 10.4, and I wonder if HP has addressed those problems.
All looks good -- the printer appears in the set-up utility, but when I try to print, the jobs stop. I've repaired permissions and added and subtracted the printer through the printer utility many times. The jobs keep on stopping. I have re-installed the HP printer drivers from the system disk, downloaded an update from HP called HPLaserJet v5_52.dmg, and tried something from Linux Foundation site called hpijs-2-1.7.6.U.dmg. Nothing worked. So what's next?

Well, I found this universal binary driver for OS X at HP's web site.

Have you tried resetting the printing system from the menu of the Printer Setup Utility, uninstalling any old drivers before installing a new one?

Thanks, Kappy, but that's the driver I tried -- the universal binary driver is the HPLaserJetv5_52.dmg. Not quite universal, as it turns out. It doesn't work with the HP LaserJet 1320. What are the chances HP or Apple will develop a driver to run this printer (2 years old) with OS 10.4.10?

I have no idea if there will ever be a driver other than what's available from HP. I suggest that if you have a problem with their driver that you contact their tech support.

Yes, the HP toolbox was the problem. I followed the uninstall directions posted on that link, http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=728727&#728727, and they did the trick. Thank you so much.
