Sudden Bluetooth Problems with Acura RL

My problem linking to my wife's Acura TL happened AFTER the firmware upgrade. All of my bluetooth devices worked fine with 1.0.2. Now, I can pair the phone with the car and then immediately use it. But after leaving and then re-entering the car after getting out of bluetooth range, the car doesn't re-acquire the phone. I'll try the suggestion to disable the Wi-Fi when entering her car. Not only did I lose my third party apps upgrading...I lost a certain level of bluetooth accessibility as well.

Sorry I can't offer any help with the TL's bluetooth.

But as an FYI, the TSX's bluetooth works great with the iPhone without any problems. In fact, I'm getting more bars than my previous Sony Ericsson phone. I find it strange that Acura's HandsFreeLink bluetooth works differently on different models.

Turn off the iPhone WIFI while driving or making hands-free calls and see if that helps. It worked great for quite a few people I know. Also, turn off the "Ask to join..." feature.

BTW, it works great on my bimmer.
Paring the iPhone was lot easier than my other RAZR phone.

I noticed the same thing in my wife's RL the first time I used the iPhone.

The trick is to first establish a bluetooth connection (call) and then adjust the volume of the phone using the volume swicth on the phone. Apparently the iPhone retains separate volume settings for each audio source (speaker, headset and bluetooth).

Works perfectly with an '08 RL.

This was driving me nuts, as well (hands-free/BMW), and I can confirm that turning off wi-fi fixed it for me. For me, it even works after a call is already in progress.

Although I'm glad to have a workaround, I hope this issue is identified and quickly squashed. I'm often in and out of my car several times a day, and it's getting really old, having to futz with wi-fi every time. I also keep forgetting to turn it back on, once I'm at home.

Really? I can't get the iphone to pair in my Mercedes. Any clues?
