Possible to play presentation Half Screen?

Hi there,

I'm trying to play my Keynote presentation Half Screen or Quarter Screen, but when I press play it always goes to Full Screen mode.

I need it in a smaller window because I'm using SnapZ to capture it as a screen cast, and you can't capture in full screen mode.

Thanks!

OK then....is it possible then to advance through the slides and have the effects work?

Because I created lots of effects and transitions, and they play perfectly when I present full screen, but since I'm doing a screen castt with Snap Z, it won't let me record the full screen -- so I'm wondering if when I do the screencast by advancing through the slides, why the effects aren't showing?

Thank you again!

I'm not clear on what you are asking -- are you actually running the presentation when advancing through the slides? If so, then effects should definitely appear.

Could you export the slideshow as a QuickTime instead of doing a screen capture? Would the Recorded Slideshow feature be an option that would be useful, instead of using SnapZ?

No, I'm not running the presentation when running through the slides since when I run the presentation, it goes full screen only 😟

So I'm just advancing through the slides as they appear on the left hand side of the screen, and record with Snap Z.

Are you saying there is a screen capture feature in Keynote (Recorded Slideshow) that I could use in lieu of Snap Z? (that would be wonderful!) Or are you saying I could just export the slide show to QT....but can I record Audio on to the presentation before exporting to QT?

Thank you very much for helping me through this!!

Regards,
Stacey

You can use the Record Slideshow menu item (new to KN '08) to record a slideshow, complete with narration or other live audio, that can then be played back from within Keynote. Check the Help menu or online manual for more details. Furthermore, you can export this Recorded Slideshow to QuickTime, and thus make a movie of it that is playable without Keynote.
