I have a buddy who purchased an iMac in the US , but now is in Israel. Power requirements in israel is 230v - does the iMac have an automatic feature in it concerning power conversion? or does he need to get a power converter.

We both haven't been able to find documentation or info on this question....

I am going to guess you will need a power converter based on my wife's travels to different countries in Europe.

    Hi Rory,

No problem, see the iMac Tech Spec pages (Electrical and environmental requirements):
All you have to find in Israel, is the right plug adapter to fit the mains there.

Only iMacs that have no 100-240volt/50-60hertz international PSU, are the first generation G5 iMacs that were sold in the US, Japan and Canada.

No converter needed for the new iMacs.

    Hi Rory,

    all Intel-Macs have a power-supply which works within a range of 110V - 240V.

What your buddy do need is either a power-cable with the appropriate connectors for Israel or a converter for the power-cable he has to connect it to the wall-socket used in Israel.
