Phone doesn't ring while "snoozing" any help?

When I put the phone in lock mode aka snooze (off) it doesn't ring at all, as soon as I turn it back on, it gives me the the list of missed calls at exactly the time I turned it on. i.e. if someone called me at 1:00pm and I didn't turn the phone on until 1:25pm it will tell me I have a missed call at 1:25pm?

Anyone else have this problem of your phone not ringing?

Stats:
The phone is updated with the latest Iphone software, its about 3 weeks old, and its not hacked.

are you turning the phone off or locking it? You said lock mode aka snooze (off).... lock is different from off...when off it will not ring... you also said when you turn it back on, which says to me your turning it off... did you mean when you unlock it or turn it on...please clarify and hopefully someone can help

I'm locking it, (the physical button on the top right hand corner of the phone), while its locked it doesn't ring, or shall I say it rings some times. I haven't played around or altered any settings. I don't even know how to turn it off? can you turn it off? Anyways when It "locked" it doesn't ring.

Can you get other audio out? i.e. if you play a song in iTunes does it play through the speaker? I found a couple of times the headphone jack did not recognize that the headphone wasn't plugged in. The phone would not ring and iTunes audio did not come out of the speaker. Some combination of plugging and unplugging the headphones or using a small screw driver to gently probe the headphone jack has always resolved the issue in my case.

Yes!!! I have this problem too! I just got my iPhone last week, and I'm missing about half my calls. Here's the scenario:

I've got Vibrate enabled for both silent and non-silent modes. Regardless of what the silent mode switch is set to, my phone may or may not "ring" when someone calls - it seems less likely to ring if the phone has sat idle for a bit (say, an hour.)

If I wake the phone while someone is calling it, it'll immediately show me that someone's calling and give me the chance to answer it. If I miss the call, then the next time I wake the phone it briefly displays as if the call is happening right now, and then immediately the display switches to say that I missed a call. The time of the missed call isn't correct either - it's the current time.

I've attempted to fix the problem by restarting the phone (didn't help), and restoring it via iTunes (didn't help.) The phone's only about 6 days old, and I've done nothing to modify it since buying it (no jailbreaks, no software upgrades, etc.)

This is driving me nuts!

That's interesting news - I wonder though, would replacing the phone help if its a software issue? It seems to only affect some minority of people, too, which is baffling. Here's hoping there's a software patch soon though!

They told me the software patch will come. But since I needed it to work for professional reasons, they agreed to replace it immediately, assuring me that the new one will work.

Here's a little more info, in case any Apple folks are listening in...

I've spent some time experimenting, and found that I can reproduce the problem by simply letting the phone sit "snoozing" for 20 seconds. That is, if I wake the phone up, put it back to sleep, wait 20 seconds or more, then call it, it won't ring. If I do the same with a wait of less than 20 seconds, the phone will ring properly.

Needless to say, it also rings properly if the phone is awake at the time the call comes in.

I'm going to pay a visit to my local Apple store and see about getting my phone replaced. But if any Apple employees in Cupertino want to see this in person, feel free to contact me - I work just up the road in Sunnyvale! 🙂
