Macbook Pro Scratches!

Since this is a user to user forum we can only guess Apple's policy based on reading the warranty, and our knowledge of warranties. Warranties typically only cover manufacturer defects. I don't think an aesthetic issue such as a scratch is going to go over well as an asked for repair under warranty. Be more careful if you want something as aesthetically pleasing as smooth metal.
It shouldn't affect the functionality of the machine itself.

You can certainly try to get Apple to repair it, but no one here except Apple would be able to tell you what the final verdict will be. Please read the Terms of Use.

Of course if Apple will not provide the repair under warranty (and it is likely they would not)... they will still make the repair for you if you are willing to pay for it. I expect the cost would be on the high side however. It may not be worth it just to get rid of a few scratches.

Apple warranties don't cover cosmetic or aesthetic damage to your products. But as JoeyR said, you can pay to have it fixed, although it would cost a lot more than you'd think for a little scratch :P

Unfortunately without having the exact chemistry of the machine, it would be impossible to guess which scratch remover is not corrosive leaving you in worse shape than you started. Just live with it.

I fitted these a few weeks ago to my new MBP as I thought the large areas would be prone to scuffing as on my previous laptop. So far they have kept their look well and dont look out of place.

I wouldn't buy it off eBay. Much more reputable vendors sell these. Mainly authorized Apple computer resellers. eBay has no protection against possible identity theft if you get an e-mail that spoofs them. I get hundreds of these a day.
