How to change song order in ipod/itunes?

My songs are out of order. I thought maybe you could select the song and move it to where you want it to be, like if you were burning a CD but that is not the case. Can this be done, so when my Ipod is synched with Itunes, the songs will be in correct order and play in the order I want them to? I am working in the Ipod Music Library, can it be done there or do I have to make separate playlists? Thanks

Put the songs in a playlist, put them in the order you want them in the playlist, then right click and pick "Copy to Play Order" which I think makes the order stick and will copy to the iPod in that order as well. Although I admit I never use that command myself, so I might be mistaken.
