Restoring individual files from sparseimage using EMC Legato Networker?

We recently added a couple of Mac's to our network, which backs up using EMC Legato (Networker). While Legato supports OSX, it doesn't mention anything about individual file recovery from a sparseimage that was created by using FileVault.

Do we have to restore the complete image, mount it to a temporary system and extract the individual files that way or is there another way we can do it through EMC Legato?
