How can i know that i have installed superdrive update V2.1?

Hi guys,

My superdrive (HL-DT-ST GWA4080M)no longer work anymore. It takes CD-DVD, read and then eject the disc. This problem seem like all whose suffer from superdrive update V2.1, however, i am not sure myself that i did or did not update...

Is there a way to check that this update is in my mac?

What does System Preferences/Software Update/Installed Updates show ?

Apple have pulled that updater as it caused many problems, you're better off if you didn't update.

Hi

That what i found in "installed software". It does not obviously show superdrive update 2.1.. Does it mean that my MBP is free from the killer update? Then now im getting worry about my superdrive.

The Superdrive Update file places an Installer in your Applications or Utilities folder and you have to run it specifically, it sounds like you didn't, but that doesn't help resolve your drive issue. I think your next step is to call Apple and see what they say about it ...

What would the name of this file be? I too am curious to see if I made the mistake of installing this or not. I often keep updated and may have installed it. In Utilities I see a Mac Book Pro EFI Firmware update from the 9th of October...
