Podcasts won't work with iPod Touch!

I tried to manually put my podcasts onto my iPod which worked, but when I went to play them, they were no where to be found, but were still still taking up space on the hard drive! The podcasts (Hospital Records Podcast) are mostly in AAC format. So I how can I make them work with my iPod Touch?

I have tons of podcasts that work on my iPod Touch. Instead of trying to manually put them in why dn't you do it the way it is supposed to be done? Under iTunes select iTunes Store (no, this does not mean you have to buy anything). Now select podcasts and do a search on say Hospital Records. Now select the podcast you want to subscribe to and click on it. You will see a box that asks you if you want to subscribe. Say yes of course and that podcast will be added to your podcast list. Now make sure you have your iPod Touch attached and sync it so that the podcasts are downloaded to your touch.

Also (this is very important) under iTunes go to devices and select your iPod Touch. You will be presented with a page that shows a number of categories. Select podcast then click on sync and select say the last 3 episodes or whatever way you want to do it. iTunes needs to know which podcasts you want on your iPod Touch.

I hope this is not too elementary but it may give you a hint of what is wrong.

There is no reason you should have to have all episodes on your touch at the same time, at least I never do this. It is likely that you will only listen to one or two episodes a day as time permits or the length of the podcasts. Some of the podcasts I listen to are as much as 2 hours.

Consider doing this:

iTunes--> Devices --> selected your iPod touch--> Podcasts pulldown

Now select something like 3 most recent unplayed. Once you listen to 1, 2 or 3 episodes those episodes will no longer appear and earlier episodes (or newer ones) will be added. Works well and you do not have to burden your iPod touch with so much taken up space that you are likely not going to listed to today anyway.
