Recording DVR content on to DVD

Is there a way to record video content from a DVR onto a DVD using the Combo Drive on a Powerbook G4?

PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I think, no offense, the immediate answer to your question is no, only because you said "combo drive" and combo drives don't burn DVDs. Only CD-Rs.

Combo drives read & write to CD-Rs and only read DVDs. A PowerBook equipped with a SuperDrive will read & write to both CD-Rs and DVDs. So if you have a SuperDrive in your PowerBook, then you can. At least according to the site below.
