DSR-11 not working properly when updated to OS 10.4 & FCP 6

IS the DSR-11 compatible with OS 10.4 & FCP 6?

It is. I recently setup two new edit stations (both IntelMacs) at our local government access channel with FCS 2, running OS 10.4.9 and QT 7.1.6. Both edit stations are using Sony DSR-11 VTRs successfully.

Many (w-a-y too many) people have had terrible (way too terrible) upgrade experiences with their Firewire systems failing to recognize their old gear. You can search for the error message you are seeing or DSR11 (dsr-11 DSR-11) and see what shows up.

In my case, my dsr11 drops offline about twice a week. I often just shut down, wait a few minutes and reboot the Macintosh to reset the FW bus (that's what I've been told this does, rests the FW bus).

If yo continue to be unable to use your FW input, try trashing the prefs files (search this forum for FCP RESCUE or TRASHING PREFS) for some help on doing that.
