USB Turntables

Has anyone bought a USB truntable to import their old vinyl records?

What were your experiences with a USB turntable?

G-5 , 2.3, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I have a friend who bought a USB turntable from ION ( http://ion-audio.com/) and says it's easy to use. THere are three models, which you can learn more about on the web site. Go to the "Products" pull-down menu.

One caveat: he doesn't use a Mac, and I saw some reviews, among the large number of very positive ones, that indicated tha included software doesn't work with a Mac. Several say that you can use SoundSoap, or ROxio's sound editing software with the ION turntable.... I don't know for sure.
I'm thinking about buying one, and would like to hear anyone's comments...

I bought the numark TT USB turntable. same company that makes the ion. results are good. easy connection with intel imac but not with intel mac book pro. too much static thru mbp speakers, may be a power brick issue, still isolating. use toast titanium 8's cd spin doctor. it has an audio set up assitant.
it's usb connect. Or you can use garage band to import the analog vinyl.

I just got the Ion USB turntable and it is very easy to set up and use, although
I think the stylus will wear out fast. The software that comes with it for the Mac
is Audacity and now easy to use, but I have Sound Studio. I use this software
to edit the music that is take out all the clicks, pops, etc if the record is scratched.
I have then exported the music to iTunes and burned CD's.

Mine is the Ion USB also. I thought the instructions regarding balancing the arm were a bit vague and left a lot to my discretion regarding the counterweight resistance just feeling right and setting the scale to the correct point of my choosing!
Also, I found that with my Intel iMac, I had to get the updated latest Audacity version to get it to work.
I guess it is easier with the software for PCs, as it will record and then import directly into iTunes.

But Audacity works fine and importing the files into iTunes is just another step.
