I will be interested in what you find out. I just picked up a Samsung 730b, using it with the Apple supplied ADC to VGA adapter. I am contemplating a DVI cable. One thing I found on Samsungs website, is that the monitor uses a DVI-D input... do you have the right cable?
I cannot get a Samsung 930B LCD to connect via DVI to my Power Mac Dual 867 w/ ATI Radeon 9700 Pro video card. It works fine with the DVI to VGA adapter. I've tried 3 new cables. Is this possible? All the specs seem to line up.

Update- I picked up a DVI-D Dual Link at the local PC store today, plugged it in and after a few seconds of booting up, it recognized the display.. what I have not figured out yet... what benefit have I gained in switching to DVI interface? Also, interstingly, now that I am using the DVI cable, the Samsung Magic Tune software will not work.
As far as your problem, do you have the display set to auto recognize input source?
