Turning PowerMac G4 to a Server

Hello everyone,
I really need some help. I'm in the process of building a home server for all my music files, pictures, and files that I need. I purchased a used powermac G4 quicksilver 2002 and will be installing OS X server 10.3. I need every piece of information anyone could provide. If you have a step by step and tips on how to do that, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Adel

I'd suggest really reading the OS X Server documentation carefully before proceeding so you can decide what type of configuration you want to run. There are a lot of options in Server - make sure that you understand what you're getting into before jumping in. There's also an excellent book on Panther Server that I got from Amazon.com - "Mac OS X Server 10.3 Panther : Visual QuickPro Guide" that spells out setting up Server quite nicely, worth the $20.

Spend the $20 and get the book from Amazon.com. It lays out in detail the various functions in Server, how to configure them and so on. Realistically, Server's probably WAY more than you need for what you're looking to do, but there are some advantages to running it, like being able to remotely control file sharing and user access.
