AirPort Express and External Hard Drive

Question

AirPort Express and External Hard Drive

Can the USB port on the AirPort Express be used to connect an external hard drive wirelessly to your computer, or is it designed solely to connect to a printer? If it is possible, please teach me how to set that up. Thanks!

No. A USB printer is the only thing that will work. Connecing a hard drive is a feature of the airport extreme.

Just to clarify... only the square 802.11b/g/n AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) supports USB hard drives. The earlier 802.11b/g AEBS do not.

There are only two devices you can connect to the Airport Express USB port:
- a printer
- the Keyspan Express remote control device for iTunes
