Ball Shaped speakers stereo plug too small

I just got a second hand set of ball shaped speakers with what looked like a mini stereo plug on them. The plug is too small to fit into my iMac. does anyone know if there is someone who sells an adapter. To my knowledge, these were made by Apple a little while back. They are clear acrylic ball-shaped speakers that I remember seeing sold with an Apple computer a few years ago.

Hi

I think they're intended for use with the digital amplifier built into some Macs starting with the Digital Audio Power Mac G4s. I wouldn't like to guarantee they'd work with a standard physical adapter, assuming you can buy one that fits. Griffin used to sell an adapter called the iFire that allowed them to be connected via Firewire but it was discontinued some time ago:
