"Loading. . .", then "Switching. . ." when I open QuickTime Player

I just installed updates on QuickTime Player 7. I don't know if this is a problem, but when I open QuickTime, it reads "Loading. . ." then "Switching. . ." and then seems to freeze on the "Switching. . ." screen instead of going to the QuickTime page that has links to videos that can be downloaded. Also, if I go to File > Open Recent>, it does not show recently viewed files. Is there a problem with this software? If so, please give advice to troubleshoot.

Do you have an internet connection? If you do, it should work. If you don't, it should let you know that (you can also bring this up manually by doing Ctrl-Alt-G). Is it at least showing your recently opened movies in Start -> My Recent Documents?

The same thing is happening to me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it doesn't work. I'm not concerned about recently viewed, but am about Quicktime minimizing after "Switching..." and isn't allowing me to go to it's home window. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

I have the same issue...except its just stuck on 'loading...' and windows keeps giving me the lovely 'bonk' sound every 30 seconds or so.

Its quicktime 7.2, just downloaded tonight.
