Downloading podcast with error 8004

Hi,

I have been trying to download podcasts that have basic authentication set up, however after the authentication verification ok, itunes throws "An unknown error (8004) Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again". The url is valid and the network is active. I can access the rss feed from web alright and have no problem viewing the files. Is there anything I should check?? Any help is appreciated!!

I have a similar problem, except it's my own podcast. I haven't changed ANYTHING -- the rss feed is the same as it has been for a year. Suddenly, I'm getting an "err 8004" when I try to download the feed. I don't see any problems with it when I paste it directly into my browser, so I'm guessing it's a problem with iTunes. Please help!

Here is the URL for the feed, that up until a week ago worked just fine:
http://home.comcast.net/~jsolony/TLM/unclev.rss

Here's the URL for iTunes:
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=204309390

THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE!!!

I am having the exact same problem. I did nothing except add an episode. It's possible my feed stopped working before I added the episode and I didn't notice.

My feed is http://home.comcast.net/~buzzjackson/podcast/Buzzcast.rss and it's worked fine for about two years. Until now.

I can get there in bloglines and other RSS readers, so I dunno. Any help is appreciated.

Good catch, BuzzJackson. I noticed that we were both Comcast, as well. Also, I've been having trouble with parts of my website (though not all of it). I'm getting a very strange error screen. You can see it here: www.acousticblender.com

This links to one of my Comcast sites. It has been down for several days now. No explanation from Comcast. They're "working on it." I wonder if this is a Comcast problem after all. Are there any others who are having this issue?

I think it's pretty clear from your error that the problem is on comcast's side. I right-clicked on your error image and it's from http://home.comcast.net/oops.gif

Very strange. I wonder how many others are having this trouble. I checked my feed at feedburner's side and I get this error:

Server returned HTTP Error 301: The HTTP server returned a redirect error that would lead to an infinite loop. The last 30x error message was: Moved Permanently

which indicates that maybe the URL is wrong. But the file is present on my comcast FTP. I can login and see it.

Very very strange.
