firefox crashes me

Firefox has suddenly gone haywire and crashes my computer every time I try to use it. I've tried trashing it (crashes when I empty the trash) and I've tried re-downloading (crashes when I click to replace). This all started happening around the same time I dowloaded and tried to use Fetch, but that was never a problem when I was using it before. Power Mac G5, OSX 10.3.9.

Sounds like a corrupt disk drive. Try repairing it thoroughly. And in the meantime, stop and avoid using it, except to update your backup sets.

Ha! Thank you for that link, Dale. As expected, the Firefox help line still had not picked up after waiting 40 minutes, so I tried restarting in safe mode, as suggested in the link. I was able to throw away Firefox without the kernel panic, restarted in normal mode, blah blah, anyway my newly reloaded Firefox is up and running. I don't know what the problem was, but SO FAR it's history.

Never had that problem before with Firefox. I started using Safari instead, which it seems more stable at this point. I was doing heavy trading with my stock-brokerage and the darn browser froze several times in the middle of the process, so I have to use FORCE QUIT tool to terminate Firefox.

I'm using an IMac Intel with Tiger OS X on it and it never crashed since I bought it two years ago.
