iMovie HD6 cannot launch

I installed iMove 8 recently. When I tried to open iMovie HD6, I got an error message - "Application unexpectedly quit". I had tried to reinstalled iMovie HD6, but it didn't work. I had so many moive projects done in iMovie HD and don't want to redo them. Appreciate if anyone can help.

Below is the detail error report from the system:

Sadly I cannot help you, but I can say my iMovie HD is doing exactly the same as of last night. Version 6.0.3. No other programs are giving trouble. I have trashed preference file, repaired permissions, cleaned with Macjanitor and applejack and diskwarrior and nothing helps. It starts, loads a project (or establishes a new one) then crashes totally. 160GB Samsung disk, brand new with 16GB free space. It's been working fine then overnight it's not. It's really annoying.

OK I reinstalled the system software - 10.4, taking my machine back to Christmas 2006. iMovie now opens and works fine. Sadly the soundtrack on the movie that opened with iMovie is ruined, but fortunately I had a backup. All other movies and their soundtracks are unaffected, work fine. I still dont know why, but at least the problem is fixed. When I get movie exported to DVD I'll upgrade the system again.
