Has anyone used ipodwizard?

If so, I have no idea where to start. I have downloaded the files but when I double-click to launch, it asks me what program to use. Huh? Any help would be appreciated.

Intel 20" iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.9), Also have a Sony Vaio I use for my 5g ipod

Turns out that my iPod isn't infact bricked as there was a little trick I didn't know about. It's working fine now.

Regarding iPodWizard though, it's a great little program. I'm using it now and it's causing no problems to my iPod. I only had a problem because I disconnected my iPod in the middle of a reset and it caused a problem where my iPod would just reset itself over and over again.

Aslong as you write the modified firmware data to the iPod, eject to make the changes and don't disconnect until you have told Windows to eject the disk safely you should be fine.

belly37: iPodWizard is a Windows application and no Mac version is available.

Yes, but he indicates he's using a Sony laptop for his iPod which suggests he's using Windows.

And to other posters, iPodWizard DOES NOT have the power t "brick" your iPod. Any problem caused by it can be easily fixed by following the directions in their forums.

Yeah, they would say that wouldn't they?

Thanks for the comments guys...

2 issues that I had:

1) Finding other users who had used it successfully - DONE!
2) Finding out how to install.

Let me explain point #2. When I downloaded the file, it came across as a .php file (I think). What do I do with this file? How do I install it? When I double-click it, it asks me what program to use.

Add'l info would be helpful. Thanks again.

And by the way, I'm using a Windows machine (I also have an iMac that's networked with it).
