Help Using Apple Loops Utility

Hey Everyone,

When I open an imported audio file in the Apple Loops Utility it doesn't detect any transients. In fact, it doesn't even allow me to change the detection sensitivity. It's like the transient section is shut off. Am I missing a step here? Thanks.

Did this permissions thing work for you, I tried it but nothing changed, did a permission repair in the disk utility and tried to do one right within apple loops utility and still same problem...there is no "right" clicking on the actual sample... nothing happens... I have the exact same problem as the original poster so I was wondering if the permissions fixed it for him... I'm new to mac so I may be doing something wrong....

OK I figured out that it doesn't have anything to do with the disk permissions. There is an option on the Tags window right near the top beside file type for either non-looping (I guess this must have been defaulted) and looping. If you click looping then when you go to the Transients window the transient markers all show up.

So to piggy back off that question - what now?? I can draw in transient markers where I need them but how does that help me if I can't manipulate the audio??? I mean once I have all the transients that I want to work with marked shouldn't I be able to somehow quantize them? In Cubase I could just drag them forward or backward so that the audio was on the beat. Pretty skimpy manual and I am not sure what the next step is once I have all the transients marked the way I want them.
