Adaptec 2906 SCSI Card not support my scanner

In my G4 is a Adaptec 2906 installed. If I connect my scanner (Linoscan 1800), I can not choose him in the scanprogramm. SCSI-Probe shows the scanner with the right ID. What can I do? If I need another SCSI-Card, what is the right choose?
