Duplicate calendar / iCal entries every time I sync Nokia 6300

Every time I sync my Nokia 6300 the entries I have put on the calendar on the phone originally and which have then synced to iCal get duplicated so that I end up with duplicate entries every time I use iSync

As always any help or advice most appreciated
