scsi card for quicksilver in tiger?

I'm looking into putting a scsi card in my quicksilver to connect a DLT drive. Anyone know of a good solution? Cheap's good, something that works relatively hassle free is good as well.

Hi,
I believe SCSI is a tough problem to solve. Go over the the 'Tiger' forum and type 'SCSI' in the search engine, there are lots of posts to read, it might help answer your question.

Sorry Scott, but you will not find a cheap SCSI card that will work with both OS X and a DLT.

SCSI and OS X have never worked well together, and only the expensive high-end cards work good, if at all.

Cards from ATTO and Initio both work well, but at a cost.

Of course if you have a DLT, money may not matter. But if it does I'd suggest looking for another backup medium.

I'm looking into this to output a dvd project onto DLT for replication, not as a backup system.
There are a bunch of older atto cards pretty cheap on ebay as well as dlt drives. Are there issues with these older cards (taking for granted that theyre in working order) on G4's, on Tiger?
What about booting up in an older version of OSX, like Panther?

I'm considering the firewire to scsi adapter from ratoc now as well. Although there are a lot of cheap atto cards for sale second hand out there that will fit in my quicksilver, I dont know what kind of issues will come up.
The adapter, while probably not as fast, sounds like it will be a bit more stable.

The Ratoc does look the most reliable, they do say that Tiger is supported.

apparently 2nd wave and belkin also make something similar, although some people have reported a lack of "plug and play" ability in some cases.
