iTunes store is not connecting

I'm getting this message:

"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection timed out."

"Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."

After running diagnostics, I saw that the Network Interface and Internet Connection Status were both good, but not so for iTunes.

I flushed the DNS Resolver Cache, and am still not able to access the iTunes store.

Is anyone else having this problem and what can be done to resolve it?

Thank you.

I really don't have an idea what happened, but all of the sudden iTunes is working. This is what I changed I replaced my Symantec Anti-virus with CA Anti-virus. Nothing else was done. I had tried every fix mentioned with no avail. I had recieved a free trial for CA Anti-Virus and we have it already on our desktop. The desktop iTunes never had the connection problem that my laptop has had over the last three weeks. So that may be the answer...if you have Symantec/Nortons Anti-virus it may be the reason you cannot access iTunes. Just a hunch...now back to my podcasts!!!Yippee!!!

I too am having that same issue. I have tried everything and I can't get any straight answers from support. I have tried everything. I run diagnostics and it says iTunes store is not connected but everything else is ok. I even tried turning off my firewall and connecting and that didn't work. I haven't changed anything on my pc. I think Apple must have some internal problem they haven't figured out.

Since this is a generic message, as when all else fails issue an 11333 error, it seems that there are a variety of different problems all lumped together.

There are some that when they run the Network Diagnostic Tool, fail to connect to the store. There are those that have bad certificates, and those that have a bad date and time.

I would suspect that if you run the Network Diagnostic Tool under the help menu item, and it fails, then you have perhaps an issue with a firewall.

If you can connect to the store, but can't get a secure connection, then i suspect that either you date/time is off, or you certificate is bad.

I'm in the last group. I updated my certs as suggested with no effect. My computer has the correct time.

But most importantly, the diagnostic tool says that I CAN connect to the store, with an SSL (secure) connection. So the question is, how come Apple's diagnostic tool says that everything is all right, but iTunes itself doesn't see things that way.

Perhaps the diagnostic tool needs to be updated.

Yeah, I've had the same problem for the past few days. I keep getting the message, "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection has timed out." Okay. So, I ran diagnostics (several times), and all the green lights are on except for the connection to the iTunes Store, which is red. I'm getting a bit aggregated because it said to check my network connection - okay, well, what am I supposed to check? If anyone has a solution, I'd appreciate the help.

Same problem here. Network Diagnostics are all green. iTunes Radio works. The Store was working last week and I tried it today and I get these two messages:

"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

Since upgradng to latest itunes version I cannot connect to the store either from iTunes or from the web site - error message says to check connection to the internet (which is totally viable for everything else; all was working fine prior to applyign the update so I think it's an update issue; has anyone tried rolling back to pre the update and has this worked?

I've tried everything listed here and still can't get it to work.
I spent an hour on the phone with tech support only to not have it work, and then I was hung up on.
The itunes store had been working today on my old version of itunes but it wouldn't let me buy something until I upgraded.
Needless to say, I'm really p.issed.
