Why don't LG phones work with iSync??? I got sick and tired of the motorolas and bought a nice LG VX8700 only to find out that not a single LG phone is supported by iSync, what's the deal? Any indication that iSync will support LG in the future?
The common synchronization platforms supported by iSync are not embedded in mobile handsets manufactured by LG for such providers as Verizon Wireless.
There has never been—and, there will likely never be—support for such devices unless and until LG begins to offer the required software components to support standardized synchronization protocols.
Actually, this is not true. I have a LG Vx8600 through Verizon and I am currently synching my calendars as well as creating ringtones for it via bitpim. All of this is done through bluetooth!
Just pair your phone with your Mac, then while paired use bitpim to find your phone. It worked for me on almost the first try (bitpim isn't exactly 'intuitive') but after a little learning you get used to it.
any idea how to figure out the port?? I have BitPim set to find the port automatically, but it cannot find one. I successfully created a port with Bluetooth File transfer (MAc default program), but cannot find what the port is.
thanks a million
I got my LG VX5400 to sync with BitPim via bluetooth. It worked great! I used one of the manual detection methods to choose the port in bitpim. It gave me three choices and I tried the first one and it didn't work. The second one work and it was good to go.
