What RAM should my G4 have?

This month I purchased a used dual 1.25 GHz G4 ( mirror door ).

It had one stick of 512 MB RAM.

I requested the selling shop to install the maximum RAM, 2 GB.

The SystemProfiler showsthere are 4 sticks of 512 MB RAM.

However three sticks have the same "speed" and the 4th stick has a different "speed".

What's wtth that?

Should they not all be the same "speed"?

What RAM speed should this MAC use?

Is there a www site to explain/show me what RAM is required for any given MAC?

I would like to know before I take this MAC back to have the selling shop install the "correct" RAM.

Please help me with this one.

Hope wording of my post makes sense.

You can use all of those RAM modules in that G4; the only difference between them is that the 30330 module is slightly slower, but you probably won't notice the difference unless you are doing memory-intensive operations on your machine. If the numbers before the dash are different, it will affect what computers that module can be used in. More information on what the different numbers mean is available here.

Thanks.

I'm also greatfull to you for telling me that " the only difference between them is that the 30330 module is slightly slower... " because albeit the url " here " was helpfull it took me a long time to find out that " the only difference between them is that the 30330 module is slightly slower...".

I am always amazed how you guys know all this stuff.
