Using Darwin or Mac OS on PC

I know this is a bit too off topic, but I own in addition to my wonderful powermac G4 DA, a Compaq Armada e500 laptop with a 1gh P3 processor. I want to scrap windows XP and see if I can run DARWIN on it. In other words, is there a way through DARWIN of installing any of the MAC OS X's that are out there? I am tired of running windows XP and the problems it has. My current laptop has 512MB memory, a 60 gig hard drive, and is a Xeon P3 1ghz processor. True, I could run FREEBSD, but I enjoy Mac OS so much that I would like to port it to the laptop.

1. Is this possible and if so, how?
2. I read that on the Apple developer website portion of Apple's website that there is a X86 port of Darwin. Would I just need to download darwin and execute it by making boot disks?

Any ideas?
or is this just a waste of time. I don't have the funds right now to consider a powerbook though.
