Question

iphone camera driver install failed - vaio w/Vista

I have Vista Ultimate on a Sony Vaio. When I plug in the iphone I get a message saying that the camera driver installation failed. I can sync itunes and photos from a designated folder, but I currently have no way of getting photos off the phone - except to email them all.

Any suggestions?

Apparently a corrupt INFCache.1 file will not allow usb drives to install. This happened to me on my Dell Vista machine.

Go into Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\INF

Delete the INFCache file there. You will have to give yourself permissions to delete this file.

Its a pain but you and I can thank Mr. Gates for this annoyance.

Thanks for the tip, but it was unsuccessful. I have been able to sync. with an older desktop station, but still no luck with the Vaio.

Anyone have any other suggestions?
