It won't get out of Recovery Mode.

So this pretty much ruined my weekend...

I was using my iPod in my car with the Transpod. I've had the iPod for a about a week and a half and hadn't had any problems with it yet. So when I got to my destination I took the iPod inside with me to show it to my buddy, but when I tried to turn it on nothing happened. I tried over and over to turn it on, but nothing happened. I got frustrated and just forgot about it for the rest of the night.

Later on, I came to the Apple site to check the FAQ's and discovered how to reboot it. I rebooted and it worked fine. But the next day I was not able to turn it back on.

Since then, I got home and plugged it into my computer to see if I would be able to get it to work properly. When I did that, I was informed that the iPod was in RECOVERY MODE and needed to be restored to the original factory settings. So I did that, but the iPod still wouldn't turn on and iTunes was still telling me that it was in RECOVERY MODE. I attempted to Restore the iPod several times but only got the same result.

I'm definetly planning on bringing it into Apple ASAP, I was just wondering if anybody else had a similar problem or any suggestions.

Thanks

Hi,

Got a similar problem with my iPod Touch 16Gb... finished watching a video and left the iPod off... next day could not turn it on... decided to connect it to the computer and it mentioned Recovery Mode and the iPod was restored correctly (afterwards I learned about the reset function: pushing the on-off button plus the menu button at the same time for a few seconds).

The problem has happened again a couple of times more, mainly after watching videos, but with the reset procedure I have been able to re-start the iPod again (with no need to restore it).

But I still wonder if this is normal or if this iPod has a problem and needs to be broguth back to the Apple store.

If you get an answer from Apple about this type of problem, please do share it with me!

Thanks.
