installing google sketchup on macbook

i am having problems installing google sketchup 6 on my macbook:
1.when I need to choose where to install sketchup it tells me that I need 10.4
version of my tiger although I have 10.4.1 on my macbook
2.I tried to install sketchup 5 and the installation went fine but when I click on The icon in the dock it wont start.
What can I do? I really need sketchup for school
Any suggestions?

Which version are you installing 5 or 6? I just downloaded SketchUp 6.0.1145 from ,
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10470/google-sketchup , and it installed and runs with no problems. I am running the 1st gen Core Duo MacBook with 2 GB RAM. Try removing everything you have done so far. You can use AppDelete or do it manually. Then download and try the MacUpDate site for your download.
